Memory Lane

“I walk down memory lane because I know I’ll find you there.”

Unknown

I read this story online about people who’ve been scrolling Google Maps and have stumbled upon images of relatives who are no longer with us. I decided to give it a try. And to both my surprise and delight, I found an image of these 2 beauties.

These are my grandparents. My gramma has been gone for almost 10 years and I miss her beyond words. My grampa just passed away in April and before that time he was in a home and struggled with remembering things and people.

This picture was taken at their favourite place – Veranda Beach (aka their front porch 😊) They’d sit there together for hours and watch every car drive by, talk to every dog walker and person on a bike – they were the original neighbourhood watch. Nothing happened on that street without them knowing about it. And everyone knew them. That happens when you raise 5 kids in a house that you call home for over 60 years.

So while Gram has been gone for a long time, Gramps was recently reunited with his “Mrs.” and the house has long been sold, this treasure will now live on for me. Thanks, Google Maps for this amazing street view of Memory Lane. 💕
